Woodlawn Manor

Sitting atop rolling green hills in historic Sandy Spring, Maryland, complete with stone barns, wooden fences and grazing horses, Woodlawn Manor offers a beautiful pastoral setting for weddings, receptions, teas and other social events. This Georgian-style manor house, constructed in 1800, possesses a charming sense of history.

Five beautifully decorated rooms featuring hardwood floors and period furnishings can comfortably accommodate indoor events for 50 seated guests or 120 standing, cocktail-style. Outdoor events for as many as 150 guests take place in our picturesque gazebo garden or on our five-acre landscaped lawn behind the Manor, which features the beautiful, Woodlawn Manor tent. The tent area can accommodate up to 120 guests seated, with room for dinner and dancing but can be extended to hold up to 150 utilizing the brick tent pad extension (can be tented for an additional fee).

Woodlawn Manor provides ample parking, tables and chairs for indoor use, and a warming kitchen for your caterer of choice. Additional parking and restroom facilities must be taken into consideration for larger groups.

The Woodlawn Manor Tent

NEW Woodlawn Party/Event Tent The tent is available for rent yearly from April through October. The elegant 30’ x 60’ white tent offers:

  • Cathedral window side walls
  • Chandelier lighting and perimeter globe lighting
  • A beautiful herringbone pattern brick floor
  • Two gracefully lit brick pathways leading to the tent
  • 16 electrical outlets
  • Easy access to the Manor house and kitchen

The tent will comfortably seat 120 guests banquet style, with room for dinner and dancing, but can be expanded with ample space for food tables and/or staging, to hold up to 150 guests utilizing the brick tent pad extension (can be tented for an additional fee). Outdoor furniture is not included in the rental cost.

Pardon Our Pruning

The ice and snow of past winters have left the English boxwoods at Woodlawn Manor looking less than spectacular. In order to restore them to their former glory, we’ve planned a three-year rejuvenation program, aggressively pruning back one third of the living foliage each year. This will encourage new, healthy, aesthetically pleasing re-growth. We’ll work to restore the hedges as quickly as possible, but we have to move at nature’s pace...so please excuse the unsightly shrubs while we work hard to save these valuable, historic, beautiful boxwoods.
