Hoover Room

Hoover Room at Rockwood ManorThe Hoover Room, named for Lou Henry Hoover the wife of President Herbert Hoover is a classically appointed room with a working gas fireplace. The room overlooks the Rapidan Room and connects to the Caughey and Salomon Rooms.

Brooke Hall

Brooke Hall in Rockwood ManorBrooke Hall on the lower level of Rockwood was named for Mrs. Frederick H. Brooke, National President of the Girl Scouts in 1937 when Rockwood was gifted to the then-newly established Girl Scout organization. The room is ruggedly handsome with exposed wooden beams, a large working gas fireplace and opens out to the terrace and the woods beyond. For greater capacity, the terrace may be tented.

Rapidan Room

Rapidan Room in Rockwood ManorThe sun-filled room, named for the Hoover's presidential retreat in the Shenandoah National Park, overlooks the gazebo and front lawn and garden. The Rapidan Room is often used for meeting space and small social events. Social events in the Hoover Room often use the Rapidan Room as its the dance floor.

Gazebo & Gardens

Gazebo and gardens of Rockwood ManorThe gazebo sits at the end of the manicured lawn and perennial gardens. It is the perfect location for a wedding or commitment ceremonies.

Veranda

The veranda that wraps part of Rockwood ManorThe wrap-around porch offers a beautiful view of the woods, gardens and gazebo and with easy access from the manor itself. Furnished with benches and rocking chairs, the veranda is a lovely place to enjoy the surroundings. The veranda is a great spot for a post-ceremony (and pre-dinner) cocktail reception.

Terrace

The terrace behind Rockwood ManorThe terrace is a flagstone patio nestled in the trees and accessible from both the Hoover Room and Brooke Hall. It's a perfect location for a wedding ceremony, outdoor cocktail reception or seated dinner. Tents are permitted in the terrace area.

Overnight Accommodations

Bridal Suite at Rockwood ManorRockwood Manor can accommodate over 100 overnight guests in a variety of room types, including ten hote-like rooms and dormitory-style cabins. The overnight rooms may be reserved with or without a complementary event.

The bridal suite, pictured most left, is located in Carolyn Cottage, named for Carolyn Gangwer Caughey, the designer, builder and original owner of Rockwood.
